- 01Board certification (such as BCBA, BCaBA, RBT, QBA, QASP-S, or ABAT) is a seal of quality. It ensures that the people guiding your child’s progress have met rigorous international standards for education, experience, and ethics. This means your family receives care that is safe, evidence-based, and supervised by experts who are committed to the highest level of professional conduct.
- 02Yes, a significant one. While many people can learn the basic techniques of ABA, a Board Certified professional has undergone years of professional, university-level training and supervised practice. They are required to pass rigorous exams and stay updated with the latest scientific research through continuing education. This ensures your child’s program is not just "one-size-fits-all," but a sophisticated, evolving plan tailored to their unique needs.
- 03Think of it like a medical team. A Supervisor (a board-certified analyst) is the architect who designs the personalized learning plan and monitors overall progress. A Technician (like an ABAT) is the skilled professional who works directly with your child daily to put that plan into action. Both roles are essential for a consistent and effective program and must be built into the service delivery model.
- 04In a Supervised program, your child’s direct therapist (the ABAT) is never working in isolation. They are regularly shadowed and guided by a Program Supervisor. This "double-check" system ensures the teaching methods stay effective and ethical. If your child hits a plateau, the Supervisor is there to analyze the data and pivot the strategy immediately, so no time is wasted in your child’s development. At SEED Autism Services, the Supervisors hold team meetings with the family and therapists at least every 2 weeks, ensuring close and focused monitoring of the program.
- 05Certified professionals must follow a strict Code of Ethics. This covers everything from protecting your family's privacy to ensuring that the goals we set are actually meaningful for your child’s quality of life. Because we are held accountable by an international board, you have the peace of mind that your child is being treated with the highest level of dignity and professional care.
