HOME BASED 1:1 INTERVENTION (ABA THERAPY)

Providing Professional 1:1 ABA Support for Every Child

Our Home Based 1:1 ABA Therapy Program is designed to meet each child’s needs and build on the child’s existing strengths, making our teaching approach neuro-affirming, ethical and practical. Skills are taught systematically in accordance with developmental age norms. Language and communication, play development, socialization, and daily living skills are some of the areas that are covered in the program.

Why Home-Based ABA?

Globally, the field of ABA is moving toward the Natural Environment approach. It is the gold standard for ensuring that skills, such as communication and self-care, actually transfer to a child’s daily life at home, in school, and in the community. This is one of key advantages of subscribing to home-based ABA model as compared to a clinical setting (centre-based ABA model), especially for early learners. Through this model, we can better prioritize:

  • Natural Environment Training (NET): Teaching skills like daily living skills and communication in the exact context where they are needed. Skills generalization takes place more frequently and naturally for the child as more opportunities are present for practice.

  • Functional Daily Living Skills: Providing hands-on support for daily routines such as mealtime, dressing, and personal care at home, making it easier for the family to navigate daily routines.

  • Generalization of Learning: Reducing the gap between a clinic and the real world so children maintain their progress in everyday surroundings.

  • Community Integration & Outings: Using local outing such as trips to the neighbourhood park, grocery store, or barber shop to help your child master social and navigational skills in real time.

Our standard offerings for this program model are:

Intermediate Program (12 hours weekly)

Our 1:1 intervention programs are carried out by certified behavior therapists (or therapists who are undergoing the certification program) and are supervised by Certified Behavior AnalystsThis means that your child will receive quality program at SEED Autism Services, as all clinical staff are trained, qualified and must complete the ethics module to ensure the children we work with are happy, relaxed and engaged during the therapy sessions. Having a Board Certified supervisor on the team ensures there is close and frequent monitoring of the quality of lessons planned for your child. A Board Certified supervisor is also formally trained to develop individualized programs that will benefit your child. Ultimately, this promotes sustainable learning for the child and a positive outcome for the family.

Before you enrol into an intervention program, it is best to collect all relevant information such as the approach used by the team, the service delivery model, the availability of therapists, pricing, the qualifications of the team (especially supervisors), your goals and your child's goals, available training for parents and family members to support the child at home and more. This will help you make informed decision before you get started. Rest assured, we are here to help you onboard the services and transition into professional ABA services with ease.
