About the course

​This course provides foundational knowledge about autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including diagnostic characteristics, co-occurring conditions, how the diagnosis impacts learning differences and an introduction to evidence-based interventions. Discover what identifies as a good Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) service delivery program and learn about the principles of ABA for effective learning and teaching.

Who is this course suitable for?

Anyone interacting with individuals with ASD on a daily basis, such as parents, caregivers, teachers, healthcare professionals, social workers, counsellors, early childhood educators and assistants, law enforcement and first aid responders.
 

What is the format of this course?

This is a 4-hours course, delivered on a self-paced basis via a Learning Management System (LMS). The 4-hours course consists of 3 hours of learning on Autism & ABA, and a 1-hour learning on the Diet & Nutrition Needs of Children with Autism. The course includes a Personal Progress Tracker so participants can track and evaluate their understanding of the subject taught.

Who are the experts behind the course?

SEED Autism Services is an Approved Coursework Provider for all three tiers of QABA professional courseworks. MyDietitianEats is a registered dietitian organization which focuses on special needs' diet. Both organizations work together to help families overcome feeding and nutrition challenges that children with Autism may face in their day-to-day lives.
