SOCIAL LEARNING GROUP (SLG)
Harnessing Creativity and Increased Social Skills
THE SOCIAL LEARNING GROUP (SLG)
Fridays
2.45 PM to 4.45 PM (Senior SLG)
2.30 PM to 4.30 PM (Junior SLG)
Is your child having trouble relating to what others have to say? Does he require help in modifying his thoughts and behaviors in different settings? Would she benefit from learning to infer hidden social rules and adapt accordingly?
Our Social Learning Group helps children with social-skills deficits to learn appropriate ways to interact with peers in a social environment. During each 2-hour lesson conducted weekly, children will learn about social communication through a variety of activities that promote social interaction. Examples of skills targeted in this group include joint attending, social language, social play, self-regulation, and classroom/group behavior.
The Junior SLG program is intended for 5 to 8 year olds.
The Senior SLG program is intended for 7 to 10 year olds.
